Social Work, BACHELOR OF SOCIAL WORK

Become a champion for your community’s marginalized children, adults, and families through NAU’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree program. As you engage with dynamic, topical coursework and hands-on learning, you’ll learn how to effectively advocate for human rights and social justice for vulnerable populations. You’ll gain the skills and knowledge to effectively address poverty, structural racism, and oppression.

The degree offers special emphasis on serving in rural and Indigenous areas of the Southwest. With instruction from our experienced, expert faculty, you’ll be empowered to change the world, one life at a time.

Your efforts as an agent of change start long before graduation. Intensive internship experiences geared to your strengths and interests—with energetic support from faculty mentors and peers—prepare you for a variety of careers in the fast-growing field of rural community social work. By applying your classroom skills in local organizations, you’ll build your résumé, earn course credit, and positively impact lives even as a student.

Our social work degree is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Structured online degrees have five start dates each semester, so you can enroll on your timeline.
