Become that teacher—the one who transforms lives—by pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at NAU. For more than 120 years, NAU has provided future teachers with the resources they need to influence the next generation. Gain valuable knowledge and insight with extensive practicum hours in multiple elementary school settings and a semester of full-time student teaching. You’ll be ready to succeed in the classroom on day one. Incredible scholarship opportunities include the Arizona Teachers Academy, which addresses the state’s teacher shortage by providing education majors with a way to affordably earn their degree. NAU is the only institution in the academy offering mentorship support, even to new teachers, after graduation. With more than 10 statewide locations, you can take prerequisite courses at a community college or, if you’re not in Flagstaff, complete your NAU bachelor’s degree in education without relocating.

What one of our elementary education students says about NAU:

“The faculty at NAU constantly challenged me intellectually and socially, and they gave me opportunities to make changes in all aspects of my life. The NAU faculty not only brought educational theories to the classroom, they taught me what it means to be a real teacher. NAU provided me with so many wonderful opportunities to grow. I now go into the field of education, confident that I will be the superhero of a teacher I always wanted.”

– Alycia Lichtas, Elementary Education major
