Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Psychology

Fulfill your passion to help others with NAU’s Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program. Apply psychological principles within a collaborative, inclusive culture throughout your coursework. With a curriculum that meaningfully incorporates theory, training, and practice, you’ll work with experienced clinical faculty mentors. They will prepare you to deliver ethical, culturally sensitive, evidence-based services for diverse populations in diverse settings.

Upon completion of this clinical psychologist degree, you will have developed in-depth knowledge and skills essential to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of complex human issues. You can meaningfully improve the quality of life for your clients, their families, and their communities.

Highlights of our Clinical Psychology doctoral program:

  • The second and third years of the program include 16- to 20-hour weekly field placements, where you’ll serve clients under the supervision of licensed psychologists.
  • Training opportunities at forensic, public health, medical, and neuropsychological sites allow you to pursue a subspecialty working within a population segment.
  • You’ll also complete a 2,000-hour internship that provides valuable clinical experience.
