Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MASTER OF ARTS

Exercise your passion for improving lives and effecting positive change with NAU’s Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. You’ll participate in meaningful fieldwork and experiential coursework that provide the hands-on experience you need to conduct culturally sensitive, ethical, and evidence-based counseling. Work with expert faculty mentors who are leaders in the field. They’ll guide you in cultivating sophisticated skills for assessing clients, forging strong therapeutic alliances, and helping clients achieve realistic goals. You’ll implement treatment plans and collaborative, evidence-based interventions.

Apply your learning and further develop your skills through an internship at a facility such as Banner Desert Medical Center, The Guidance Center, Hualapai Health Education and Wellness Center, or the City of Glendale Fire Department. You’ll graduate prepared for a fulfilling profession as an applied counseling practitioner capable of serving clients of all ages in diverse settings.
