MASTER'S PROGRAMS

MA ENGLISH – LITERATURE

Build a career in literary studies. Broaden your understanding of established literary traditions through NAU’s Master of Arts in English Literature. Our flexible program allows you to tailor your coursework to your own areas of interest while you deepen your understanding of fundamental concepts, periods, authors, and issues. Guided by faculty mentors, you’ll critically analyze how written, digital, visual, and spoken texts shape and are shaped by diverse contexts. You’ll also engage in individualized projects to pursue your goals to write and publish your work.

MA ENGLISH – PROFESSIONAL WRITING

Create and publish reader-driven documents. Through our Master of Arts in Professional Writing plan, you’ll develop the skills to write clear, concise, coherent, and accurate professional content, such as proposals, reports, procedures, policies, white papers, training manuals, and technical documentation. You’ll complete the program with an electronic portfolio of your professional work, including your research findings on problems you investigated in an actual work environment.

MA ENGLISH – RHETORIC, WRITING, & DIGITAL MEDIA

Create compelling messages in diverse media environments. Master the skills to engage in diverse civic and professional roles while supporting your local and global communities. This program will prepare you to apply your knowledge to hands-on projects and research while practicing advanced rhetorical, persuasive, and interdisciplinary skills. Developing expertise in critical analysis, communication, and organizational methods through your coursework under expert faculty mentors, you’ll prepare for a rewarding career in any professional or academic organization.
